Blog Audit

Blog Audit

Through all this semesters blog posts I think the “My Playlist” blog post was my favorite to write about. I enjoyed this post so much because I could talk about something I really enjoyed and was passionate, not only this but I was able to give my classmates an idea of who I was and what I enjoyed. The topic I least enjoyed would have been the response to raisin in the sun. Even though I did enjoy the play to me it just seemed like a short essay were my creativity was limited. I did not feel very inclined to write another essay. It just seemed very forced to me. I would personally love to explore the “off leash dog” post. I love dogs and I think it would be very interesting to see other people’s opinions on animals that I am very passionate about. And to see how they would go about making the compromise that was talked about in the article. To me, my strongest blog post would be about my playlist. Like I described above it was something I was very passionate and very knowledgeable about. I could go in depth about a topic that not a lot of people may not know about. My weakest post would be the one I was least interested in which was the Raisin in the Sun response. It was my weakest because I just did the what was required. I just did the bear minimum to get my points across to my readers and to complete the assignment. To me personally posting my thoughts on the public forum did not affect my views or writing. I enjoyed it because if gave me a non-confrontational way to post my opinions. I normally am not concerned about what people think of me so this was a very effective way to let my views and ideas be seen.

Journal #5 Revision African American Influence on Broadway

African American Influence on Broadway

A Raisin in the Sun was written by Lorraine Hansberry and was produced on Broadway in 1959. Throughout the play there were major themes of race and management of money. Being set during the time period were most African Americans were mistreated the play shows how the average family got by. I thought the play represented peoples will to live a successful happy life. through all the hard times and strife everything was done for the betterment of the family. They fought back and ultimately gained their dream home and made their whole family happy. I thoroughly enjoyed this play and I thought it shined a light on the struggles that people go through. I also think that it teaches people the lessons of managing money which is not something that is highly taught today. Even though this play was written so long ago it is sad to see that people still go through similar problems with money and race issues. I think this play brings various lessons to the table. This play teaches you to never give up in the face of adversity. It shows the dangers of careless spending and investing in money. The most important value I absorbed from this play is family values, everything that they went through for the most part they stayed together and were able to be successful because of it. After reading this play I see why it was held so high and why it is still shown and read today.

I think that dogs should have off leash hours. Just how the author stated we live on this planet through "compromise". Everyone and everything needs their “me” time, and off leash hours are a good way to give dogs that much needed “me” time. This can also be a good way for dogs to get their energy out so they can behave better when needed to like in homes and other public places. Not only can it benefit them, but us as well. Dogs are a very important of many families. For many, including me my dog never lets me be sad or upset she is always there to be goofy and cheer me up. Not only does she help me emotionally, but she gives me a good reason to go outside and run around with my best friend giving me exercise time as well, No matter where you live there is always a way to have a dog accompany you. This is why the park should keep the off-leash hours. In a form of compromise, the park could enforce stricter rules that benefit both parties. Dogs bring more to the table then they take away which is why I think they should have a time where they can run and be themselves. Not only do they give us these benefits, but we should be there for them. Humans are not the only ones with hard lives. Many animals come from rough backgrounds and deserve a good happy life just like we do, even if you live in New York there should be ways to give these animals a good healthy, happy lifestyle. Overall if a decent compromise can be made we can make a happy environment for both humans and their canine counterparts to live in the big apple!

2.      Under pressure- Logic
3.      Lord Willin-Logic
4.      Super Mario World-Logic
5.      Till the End- Logic

Logic is by far my favorite musician. The picture above is from his newest mix tape release and I recommend it to all who enjoy meaningful lyrics or music in general. His music is very deep and always has a message behind it. Everyone can find something to love in his songs. The first song I picked is one of my favorites because it is all about not taking crap from anyone and being the best you can be. It is very energetic and a good song to listen to put you in a good mood. The second song Under pressure is one of his deeper songs. I picked this because the song addresses problems he has had as he grew up, and everyone can relate to it because everyone has hardships to go through.  The third and fifth song correlate together as they are all about not giving up and striving forward no matter what. This is very relevant to me and other college students as we have to cram and study for quizzes and tests as well as the other challenges of college. Even many of the songs do not cover normal problems that people has he raps about them as a humble person making it very relatable and enjoyable. The last song, Till the End might be my favorite because it is just about having a good time and being yourself no matter what happens in life. Not only does it give those positive messages, but talks about how we should not give up on our dreams and what we love. As cliché as it sounds it is done in a very good way and describes me very well because I am always looking to make my life experiences fun and exciting. I also try to pursue what makes me happy and to not give up when obstacles are set up in my path.
