African American Influence on Broadway
A Raisin in the Sun was written by Lorraine Hansberry and was produced on Broadway in 1959. Throughout the play there were major themes of race and management of money. Being set during the time period were most African Americans were mistreated the play shows how the average family got by. I thought the play represented peoples will to live a successful happy life. through all the hard times and strife everything was done for the betterment of the family. I thoroughly enjoyed this play and I thought it shined a light on the struggles that people go through. After reading this play I see why it was held so high and why it is still shown and read today. I also think that it teaches people the lessons of managing money which is not something that is highly taught today.

I enjoyed this play too! I thought it offered a really good look into what an African American family could be going through in that time. I hadn't really thought too much about the money aspect of it so good insight!
